The sun was shining this past Sunday as it was back to the business of the Hampshire Road Race League.
Both men’s and ladies teams put in strong performances to help solidify our league positions, but the strength in depth of both teams had positive effects on the B-team’s league standings.
First home for the Ladies was Tracey Lancaster posting a time of 1:11:45, with Helen Chalk second just behind in 1:12:48 and Kirsty Spittles making up the ladies A team in 1:13:54. Debbie Taylor 1:14:54, Mel Stock 1:18:02 and Liz Farquharson 1:26:44 made up a strong B team showing.
Sandra Edwards, 1:26:45 and Sharon Gwynn 1:31:19 completed the Ladies team finishes.
Of the men, Andrew Agona came in first for the Crusaders, leading the team home in 1:02:25, with Jon Ellard finishing strong on 1:04:27. Peter Barber gets faster every race in 1:07:36 and Jonathan Ellis completed the teams scoring in 1:07:51. Phil Chamberlain 1:08:41, Paul Farquharson 1:10:46, Lee Gardener 1:11:49 and Keith Woolven 1:12:44 made up the B team. Ken Edwards 1:14:09 and Martin Ward 1:28:15 made up the men’s finish.
Overall the results leave the Ladies A team in 4th place in Division 1, The men’s A team score 4th again in division 2 and hold onto 4th spot overall in the league. The B team’s scored brilliantly, the Ladies finishing 2nd and placing 4th, while the men’s A team finished 1st and top division 2.
The Next Race is the Eastleigh 10k on March 28th.
